Places to visit in Corsica

Corsica is a heavenly combination of Snow-capped mountains , beaches , beautiful roads (Oh! the gorgeous drives by the beach side) and what not. Oh! Mother Earth you are super gorgeous.

We planned our trip to Corsica / Paris along with our Italy trip in the month of November which seemed to be off-season and I would recommend to visit here in summers (May- September) if you would like to enjoy the beaches, but it was still amazing because we had so many places just to ourselves, we could enjoy the serene & breathtaking views along with scenic drives.

So after spending few days in Italy we took a cruise from Livorno port to Bastia which was my first experience to be on cruise for 4+ hours. On a cruise we enjoyed our breakfast in a beautiful restaurant in the midst of the ocean it felt like a different world. I could feel the breeze in my hair and the fresh fragrance of the ocean. What nice feeling it was!

Then we took taxi from Bastia port and headed to L’lle-Rousse where we booked our Airbnb We stayed at Residence Pidrinella at L’lle Rousse which you can find on booking.com - It was one of the most beautiful and luxurious stay with a nice view.
Places we visited in 5 days:
1. Restonica Valley : This drive is one of the most beautiful drive and one must visit here. A river on the side and the gorgeous tall trees - Doesn’t it sound like one dreamy drive

2. Plague De Bodri beach, Corbara : Just approximately 4 KM away from L’lle rouse was this beautiful beach full of big beautiful rocks, water was freezing cold and I wore a sweater and went to the beach haha, I would not forget that feeling ever when I just put on the swimwear to go to the beach and it was so cold that I could not even go into the water level above my knees, just clicked a few nice pictures, enjoyed the calm of the beach and came back.

3. Fanale di Petra : Lighthouse on the rocky Pietra peninsula, reached by a walk. It is a very nice hike for 10 minutes and the view is beautiful.

The beautiful & simple hike

4. Corsica Museum / Citadelle De Corte : We visited this beautiful Citadel & Corsica museum. If you like history or to visit ancient places then Citadel it is.

5. Nonza Beach : Approximately 1.5 hours of scenic driving from I’lle rousse we reached this beautiful and calm village located at a height overlooking the beach. I would definitely go back there in summers to enjoy the water unlikeNovember when the waters freezing.

6. Calvi Town : Marina with n number of cafes and restaurants. Want to grab a nice meal with a nice view then this beautiful town is a go to. Also visited a church here.

7. Bastia Port : Bastia is the main port of this gorgeous island and this port city is between sea and the mountains. One can enjoy a nice walk by the side of the sea while seeing the ferries (which I loved) and also can enjoy cup of coffee at cafe, restaurant or a nice drink at a bar.

During these beautiful drives to all these places we stopped by and enjoyed lots of views, It has been a wonderful stay here at Corsica but cannot wait to come back in summers to enjoy this paradise island thoroughly.
